Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks Plus Mini Giveaway
I am a huge fan of Urban Decay lipsticks so when they released the Vice range* I was so happy finally a selection of different shades and finishes and something that could rival the Mac lipsticks that are a firm cult classic. I have 5 shades to show you today that were kindly sent to me and I have included swatches so you can get a good look of how they wear on the lips.
There are 120 lipsticks in this range, 6 different finishes and some are reoccurring shades that were already in the Revolution range. Each lipstick is house in a Gunmental and gold casing which I personally love they look chic but they also look kinda cool. I am going to talk about each shade individually as I feel that way I discuss texture, finish etc.
First of we have Rock Steady which is a Deep Wine Red shade with a slightly shiny finish, it is a cream formula and this shade was already available in the Revolution range. This shade goes on so smoothly and leaves the lips feeling comfortable. The colour pay off is amazing with just a small swipe of the lipstick and you have full pigmentation. Wear time is around 6 hours and the lips felt hydrated throughout the whole time of wearing it. I really like this shade as it wears nicely and feels nice on the lips. The cream formula does however make this lipstick a little slidey (is that a word) which might bother a few people especially if you like your darker shades to set in place.
Next we have Naked which is a nude pink shade and a Cream formula. Again like Rock Steady it felt good on the lips and left them hydrated throughout the day. However this shade does set on the lips and doesn't slip around. This shade last around 6-7 hours on the lips before it needed to be reapplied. I did find over applying this shade washed me out a little but that is just my toning, I do however really like this shade if I just wear one layer of it. It is however the perfect everyday easy to wear shade.
Then we have Conspiracy this is a Plum, Bronze Metallic shade that is an Metallized formula. I have to say I really didn't like this shade it does not suit my skin tone at all but I reckon some people can pull it off. It has a almost pearlized finish that I personally just don't like however it did feel nice on the lips again it last around 6 hours before needing to be reapplied. A nice formula but just not my preferred finish or my favourite colour.
Moving onto Menace, now I already owned this in the revolution range and I love this shade. It is a Medium Fuchsia Pink and A Comfort Matte Formula, this is such a pretty shade and looks perfect in the summer or for a bold lip kinda look. It feels really nice on the lips, it does set but still keeps the lips hydrated throughout the day. I adore this shade. You can see my full review of this shade in the Revolution range here.
Lastly I have Disturbed which is a deep brick red with a slight plum undertone and it is a Comfort Matte formula. This is a very dark shade and I found this shade kind of hard to apply, once on though I didn't like the shade but that is purely as I don't wear shades this dark however it felt nice on the lips. As it is a matte shade it does set on the lips but it still feels comfortable. Apart from the shade its a nice lipstick just a little too dark for me.
In terms of what I think of these lipsticks I really like them and I am so glad Urban Decay have expanded the range and added so many shades. I really like the formula of the cream and the comfort matte and for me to like a matte formula is out of the norm so you know it must be good. They are good quality lipsticks, with great pigmentation and a decent staying power and I defiantly think they will rival Mac lipsticks and to be honest they are just as good as a Mac lipstick if not better. Plus they are cheaper,
What is your favourite shade out of the 5 I have shown? Are these the type of lipsticks you would buy?
