Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation

Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation
I have lately been on the look out for foundation that will give me good coverage but also look natural. While I love my Revlon Colourstay foundation, I always like using different brands for reviewing and for my kit. I reviewed this foundation before I bought it and It had pretty good reviews. So I thought I would give my two cents on it.

I picked this up in my local chemist for €15.99 pretty expensive for a drugstore foundation. Now I’m not the palest in foundation shades but from using Bourjois foundations before I knew they didn’t run to light so I bought shade 51 just to be sure.

Application: when you first apply this foundation it comes out very watery until the third or forth pump. Then the consistency is so creamy, its feels so nice on the skin. It actually skinks into the skin like a creamy, face moisturiser. I used my real techniques brush and I also used sigma f80 with this foundation, its very easy to blend and unlike the Revlon Colourstay I had time to work with it.

Coverage: So upon reviewing this foundation, I read numerous blog posts tell me its a medium to full coverage foundation, however after testing it and applying with different brushes I would say its a medium coverage at its best. This foundation claims to have colour correcting pigments, I was sure the green pigments would cancel out my red blemishes for sure but it never. It just blurred them out a tiny bit. My skin evened out a little but never covered my spots.

The Whole Colour Correcting Claims: This foundation has three colour correcting pigments, Green for redness, Mauve for dullness and yellow for anti dark circles. But in my opinion I actually found this foundation way to matte to be a anti dullness foundation. So I’m not too sure about all those claims. As for anti dark circles, I don’t really suffer from those.

Staying Power: Claimed to last 16 hrs, not sure who actually wears makeup that long or even if companies actually realise everyone’s skin is different so staying power would vary. On me it didn’t last that long It broke down and looked dodgy after about 4 hours.

The Finish: As mentioned this foundation leaves a matte finish, almost ashy looking if you have dry skin stay away from this foundation, My chin was dry when I wore this and it wouldn’t even apply over it without cracking and sticking to the dryness.

The Biggest Flaw: Ok so if I wasn’t that impressed with this foundation so far to top it all off, it does the worst thing a foundation can do. Well apart from break me out. It turned me into an extra of Jersey Shore. It oxidised after 20 mins so bad that I would not wear it out. Before It turned orange the shade match was so perfect, I then looked in the mirror to do my hair only to see I was glowing. Not good!

Overall: This foundation failed to impress me big time, between the crappy staying power to the lack of coverage then the oxidising I would not recommend this foundation. If your going to call a foundation 123 Perfect give it more coverage. Being able to see my imperfections through a foundation is far from perfect.
Have you tried this foundation? Do you like it?

As always thanks for reading.

  3. strange for me this is the perfect foundation, i have oily skin, for oily skin this is a great foundation, i dont have to use powder, thats great, my skin is light but i have a cool skin tone, number 56 is great for girls with cool skin tones who are not snowwhites, but just light.
also this foundation stays on me all day, even when it is hot outside
when i look in the mirror on the end of the day it looks still beautiful
but i agree if you have a dry skin then this is not your foundation, but for oily skin it is perfect
