Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick In Hot Plum

Maybelline Colour Sensational In Hot PlumMaybelline Colour Sensational In Hot Plum

I have never bought a lipstick from Maybelline. I usually stick to Revlon and Rimmel when it comes to Drugstore lipsticks however I was in Boots and couldn't help but notice the brightness of the Maybelline Colour Sensational range. Now correct me if I’m wrong, but I have researched this and these are the UK version of the Maybelline Colour Sensational Vivids that they have in America. All the shades are the same and they are the same package, maybe the UK call them something else. I’m not sure all I know is these are AH Mazing!

I love bright lips. I think while I’m young I should make the most of it and break out neon colours. So whenever I see a lipstick like this I squeal and immediately have to have. I was there ages swatching which colour I wanted but I wanted something that I have no dupes for and ‘Hot Plum’ is the one.
If I was to describe the colour I would say a purple pink colour that has a blue undertone, a gorgeous bright plum shade that is in your face. I am not kidding, this picture does not show how bright it is. I blind people when I wear it.

The texture of this lipstick is moisturising, felt really nice on the lips and wasn’t drying at all. It went on smoothly, however as its very bright I had to apply carefully otherwise my lips would have looked messy. They are very shiny, so they make your lips look plump and full. Which is always nice. As for wear time, I did the test I always do before I blog about anything. I had a drink, and with 3 hours wear with having a drink it held up pretty well. It wore down after a while, but the colour was just as pretty as it wore off.

Overall I am really impressed with this range of Lipstick, which only means I will have to pick some more up for Spring and Summer. The texture, the pigmentation and the colour itself makes it a winner in my eyes.
Have you tried the Maybelline Colour Sensational Range? What shades do you recommend?

Thanks for Reading, Lauren x
