Revlon Rio Rush Lipstick Collection 2014

revlon spring/summer collection
Muted shiny orange shadea bright matte pink lipstick
As part of their spring/summer collection called Rio Rush, Revlon have launched some gorgeous new products to get you looking fresh and ready for the hotter months. I was very intrigued to get the nail polishes from this collection as they looked amazing, but I resisted. I did however pick up the two lipsticks from the Rio Rush Collection. The shades I got are Carnival Spirit and Sultry Samba both are part of the super lustrous line, however one is a matte formula and the other is a shine formula.

The first colour I have is Carnival Spirit, from the tube it looks like a crazy bright orange and If I didn't swatch it in store I probably wouldn't have bought it as I don't wear crazy orange shades that often, however once applied its very sheer and almost just like a lip gloss with a hint of orange. This lipstick is very fresh looking, perfect for barley there makeup and for days you just want to wear a muted lip colour. As it is a shine formula, its really moisturising and glides on the lips super easily. The colour actually reminds me of Maybelline Electro Baby Lips in OH! Orange, its a little more pigmented but the two are almost exact dupes, I do however find the Revlon version to last longer on the lips.

The next shade is the winner of the collection in my eyes, Sultry Samba (rather silly name) is a hot pink shade, this is a matte formula, however its not one bit drying. I feel bright shades like this are way better looking when they have a matte finish. I can really see myself wearing this lipstick through out the summer months, its just so perfect. Again wear time is great and as it is matte, it seems to pass the drinking and eating test rather well.

Overall I really love these lipsticks from Revlon, I think if I could only pick one it would be Sultry Samba, just because its fun and girly but I do really like Carnival Spirit. I would recommend checking out the Rio Rush collection, the eyeshadow palette looks really pretty aswell and it has some rather pretty bright nail polishes, which I think are limited edition. So you better hurry.

Have you bought anything from the Rio Rush Collection?
