As promised here is my post on the Rita Ora for Rimmel nail polishes. I have never been a huge lover of Rimmel's polishes, I find them to chip very easily. I was however drawn in by all the pretty colours of this collection, especially the pastel shades.
I have Breakfast In Bed which is a pastel mint green shade, it applies nicely and with just two coats looks perfected. Next is Pillow Talk, this is a milky baby pastel blue shade with a slight shimmer, but it really isn't that visible, again it looks great with 2 coats and is defiantly the beaut of the collection. Lastly is Don't Be Shy, this is a bright fuchsia pink and looks great with just one coat. All colours are super shiny and glossy and have a lovely finish.
Now onto formula and staying power, ok so the Rimmel 60 seconds polishes have to be applied super fast, no time for going over places you may have missed as this polish dries as quick as you put it on. Other than that they are easy to use, the brushes are wide so you can get the nail done in 2 strokes. My brush on Breakfast In Bed was a little crazy, but that is probably just the luck of getting a dud. As for staying power, here is where they fail. As you all know I live in the country, I walk the dog, type away on the blog all day and occasional light the fire. I found these polishes rather rubbish in terms of staying time, they chipped on me within a few hours. I have yet to apply them with a top coat so that is going to be my next job, but worn alone, they don't last very long. I think its because they dry so fast. I am no polish expert but that's what I'm guessing.
Overall I like the collection, the three shades I have I know I will get a lot of use out of them. If I could only recommend one I would say Pillow Talk only because I feel its pretty unique. I will try these with a top coat to see if anything changes other than that, I'm open to some advice to make them last longer on the nails?
Have you tried this collection yet? What do you think of the 60 second range?
