So I thought I would start a new series, where I would go through my collection of random eye palettes and give them a mini review and create a look with them. To kick it all off I have one from Revlon.
Revlon Colourstay 16 Hour Eyeshadow Quad in Addictive is the perfect palette for everyday. It consists of 3 matte neutral shades and 1 satin shade. The shadows are pigmented and really buttery and very easy to blend. This was actually my first time using a Revlon shadow and I was impressed with the quality for a drugstore product.
Now they are called 16 hour shadows and to be honest even with a primer they don't last that long, so whoever came up with that name......should be sacked haha. However to be fair to the product they do last a good amount of time on the eyes. Also I noticed they just seem to disappear from the lids when they do wear off instead of creasing and looking messy, so I guess that's a plus right?
The colours range from beige to a musky taupe, then we have a stain brown taupe shade and a solid matte brown shade which also makes a handy eyebrow shade. All are well pigmented, the second shade being the least pigmented. However as an overall the quality is pretty good.
For the look I applied the second shade all over the lid, then popped the third colour into my crease and slightly into the middle and then took the darkest shade in my crease to add a little definition. I then took the first shade as a brow highlight and run the third shade under the lower lash line.
Overall I would recommend this palette, I think it makes a perfect fail safe everyday palette. The matte shades are also great to use as blending out shades and the quality is very good for the price.
Have you tried this palette? What are some of your fail safe palettes?
