Max Factor Colour Elixir Lip Glosses

So I think I mentioned many times before I hate lipgloss, the texture, the fact your hair gets stuck to your lips and that either very sickly sweet or almost granny style taste are reasons why. In fact everything about lipgloss makes me want to vomit. However I recently come across some newbies on the block that might have changed my mind.

Max Factor Colour Elixir Glosses * are a gloss enriched in mineral oil and candelilla wax that give them a unique texture. They are a high glossy gloss that give the lips a full on shine and that glamorous touch to any lip look. In terms of formula these glosses feel like a very nourishing  lip balm. You wouldn't even know you had a lipgloss on. In fact they kinda feel weightless on the lips. Which I really like. As for the smell and taste (you know you lick off your lipgloss) they are rather pleasant, not to sweet or granny like, somewhat in the middle.

In terms of pigment it does say they are high pigmented colour, but in honesty they are quite sheer. One or two shades do stand out for pigmentation, such as Coral, Luxurious Berry and Polished Fuschia, but even those darker shades are rather sheer. So I feel these glosses either make great lipstick toppers (over the lips as a finishing touch) or a great lipgloss for ladies who don't like anything full on.

As for the packaging Max Factor have kept it simple with a clear plastic tube with a gold lid and the brush is a typical lipgloss wand, sturdy and applies well. Stay time is around 2-3 hours without eating and drinking. Which I feel is pretty standard for most glosses.

Overall I really like these glosses, the texture is nice, not typical lipgloss and defiantly not sticky. The colours available are really pretty and I think will suit everyone. My only fault I can find is I would like a brighter shade. Other than that I recommend checking them out next time you are in Boots.
