Making Your Bedroom A Relaxing Haven
You guys all know I love interior design and so I thought I would share some tips on how to make your room the ultimate place to unwind.  My style has changed throughout the years and I guess that is just a process of growing up. I remember back in the day my bedroom was covered in pink and super girly, back then it was messy and cluttered but for me it was my haven where I run off to, to watch dvds and chat with friends. Nowadays I think the key to a stress free zone is tidiness and minimalist decor for me anyway. I think the older we get the more fussy we get about where things go and we are defiantly a lot more picky about what goes in the bedroom. Here are some top tips to get your bedroom into a haven paradise.

First off if you work from home or do anything on the laptop and this even goes to people who are studying, don't do it in your bedroom. You bedroom should be the place to get away from all that. It should be associated with being stress free so bringing work into the bedroom is never a good idea. Now onto some decor tips. The simple things in life and really what nature throws at us and that is flowers. Having a fresh bunch of flowers in your bedroom can really make it feel homely and add that girly vibe without being ott. Also they smell really great. You can opt for fake flowers but recently I have been obsessed with buying tulips, also the price of flowers has really come down lately where you can pick up a great bunch in Aldi or Lidl for under €5.

The next tip is something you love or hate and that is candles. I don't mean surround your whole room in candlelight but having a candle burning while your in your room is always nice and again brings amazing scents to the room. I myself have a slight candle addiction so who am I to talk about not surrounding the room in candlelight, most nights in my room it looks like so sort of ritual....#problems.

I do feel its all about the decor when it comes to creating a relaxing environment. So getting some throw cushions for the bed is always a great idea and who doesn't love an excuse to browse the Primark/ Pennys homeware section. Another tip is adding artwork to your room, maybe something that inspires you or simply makes you giggle when you look at it. I have artwork in my bedroom and feel it lifts the mood in the room.

I place all my fave polishes on a little decorative tray, it makes a great decor item but also comes in handy on pamper Fridays. Of course for me anyway a bedroom wouldn't be complete without a TV, I love the evenings where I can hop into bed snuggle up and watch all my fave Netflix shows. Let me tell you there is nothing better than an episode of Parks and Recreation after a long stressful day or a Jason Statham movie...we could all stare at that face anyday of the week.

So there are my top tips to getting a relaxing boudoir. Let me know how you create a perfect space and tell me your favourite shows to watch when you are feeling down...for me Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute (the office US)  always cheers me up.
