L'Oreal Infallible 24 Hour Matte Foundation Review

It is very rare that I stray from my trusty Revlon colourstay foundation, but I kept hearing such great things about the new L'Oreal Infallible 24 Hour Matte Foundation and so I had to try it out. I picked up the shade Vanilla which is the second shade in the range and its a tad too dark for me, only a small bit but I think it will be the perfect summer foundation for me as I don't tend to get too tanned. The shade vanilla is more on the yellow tones of foundation which is my preferred tone however its not overly yellow. The range also only comes in 6 shades so there isn't a very wide shade range which is surprising for L'oreal. Anyway shade aside lets talk the nitty gritty.
L'Oreal Infallible 24 HourMatte Foundation Review

L'Oreal Infallible 24 HourMatte Foundation before and after

The foundation itself is a matte finish but it almost has a velvet finish. It left the skin radiant not glowy or dewy but more of a natural radiance. It also feels so smooth on the skin again like velvet. It is described as a full coverage foundation but I have to say after applying it with different brushes and tools, this is a good medium foundation. I still need concealer on pesky spots that refuse to cover. Talking of spots, the foundation seems to cling to dry blemishes so if your skin is dry in anyway you might want to give this a miss as it will cling like a mofo.

You can see from the picture above the level of coverage this foundation gives. I like the level of coverage it does offer actually as it feels so lightweight on the skin and not cakey at all which is surprising for a matte foundation. It almost gives me an airbrushed look to the skin, it evened out the skin tone and made my insanely large pores appear a lot smaller which is always a bonus. I sometimes find matte heavier coverage foundation emphasises the pores but this one does the complete opposite.

As for staying power it claims to be a 24 hour foundation but I mean who wears foundation for 24 hours....gross, however this is a long lasting foundation. I wouldn't say super long lasting, I think it would depend on how oily your skin was. One day it lasted pretty much all day then on a hotter day when my skin was slightly more oily it seemed to disappear a little quicker, none the less it does hang around for a long time.

Overall a really lovely foundation that I can see myself wearing a lot of in the summer when I get a little tan. Its very lightweight almost feels like you have nothing on the skin but it delivers in the coverage department and stays around on the skin for a long time and the way it smooths out my pores makes it a winner straight away for me. For a nice little price of €11.99 or €12.29 in boots...tut tut tut boots lol! you can't go wrong for the results it gives.
