The Atopic Dermatitis range* is designed to treat dermatitis quickly and is meant to prevent flare-ups. The range itself contains special ceramide complex that hydrates the skin and rebuilds the skin's natural barrier. The products promise to reduce itchiness and redness, improve roughness of the skin and build up the skin natural bacterial flora. I was sent two products in the range to try out as I get the odd bout of dermatitis usually in the spring months when Hayfever kicks in and lately I have been getting it from treating angular cheilitis, but that's another story believe me.
The first product is the Lubricating Body Lotion. This is a very creamy lotion that can be used all over the body. It is not very scented which is good and it hydrates the skin nicely. I have been using this on my elbows and the corner of my mouth (again due to angular cheilitis). I have defiantly noticed an improvement in the texture of the skin on my elbows and my mouth area has healed up nicely using this lotion day and night for two weeks straight. I also asked my mum to use it on her leg where she suffers from dermatitis and although it's not 100% healed, the skin on the leg looks less red and inflamed. I think with more usage it could clear it right up or at least keep it under control. I really like the body lotion, it seems to do what it says on the bottle and its a huge bottle for only €8.49 so it will last you a long time.
The next product is the Lubricating Bath & Shower Oil.(€9.99) This smells so nice while you are in the shower and its very moisturising and feels luxurious on the skin. This oil is free from parabens, mineral oils and soaps. It's perfect for all the family including young babies and it is aimed to reduce redness itching and flaking skin. I can't say I have seen any improvement from using this, but it's nice to know that what I am using in the shower isn't causing any more irritation to the skin. I think if I had a bath with this in I could get more benefit so for me I wouldn't buy this again mainly just due to the fact I think it's wasted in the shower. Saying that I think it would be great for young babies with dry flaking skin as it does feel nice on the skin and its super gentle and smells lovely.
Overall I am impressed with this range, the range also comes with a face cream which I would love to try out. I think even if you don't suffer from Dermatitis and you just get some dry patches on your body it's worth checking these products out. They seem to do what they say on the tin and all the products in this range are under €10 which lets face it is great for a skincare that can treat and keep a medical condition under control.
Let me know if you have tried these or what products you use to control dermatitis.
