I finally took the plunge and got my hair cut. I have been getting my mum to cut my hair for a while as one, I am a cheap skate and two because whenever I go to a hairdresser they just chop away and leave me with much shorter hair than I anticipated.
So I took myself off to a local hairdresser and told her I wanted some shape put into my hair and I wanted loads of layers so my hair had texture and movement. I had around 2 inches off my length with my first layers hitting my cheek bones. I had tried layering my own hair before but could only ever get one side to look good. Cutting your own hair is not easy.
I really do love the cut now, it looks and feels way healthier and I love the amount of texture it now has. I also have found a good hairdresser that actually listens to what I want and so I shall return and try to get my hair cut every 6-8 weeks to maintain healthy locks.
Let me know what you think of the new do. Also share your worst hair stories, mine would have to be the time I braided my hair like you do on holiday with the coloured thread and silly me put it in the very front of my hair, three hours in I decided I hated it and cut it straight off leaving me with a stiff stump left on my head that no clip or hairspray could control. I will never look at one of those braids ever again.
