Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Urban Decay Gwen Stefani PaletteI may be a little late to the party and I am sure you are sick of seeing reviews of this palette right now but I wanted to share my thoughts on it. When I first heard Gwen Stefani was collabing with Urban Decay I cannot explain the excitement. I know what your thinking not another nude palette? I know like we seriously need anymore but seriously can we really have too many? Today I am going to review the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyshadow Palette.

My Thoughts On Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette:

The Gwen Stefani Palette is housed in possibly the snazziest of Urban Decay packaging. I would even go as far to call it sexy....too far? Inside the sleek gold and white case there are 15 eyeshadows 12 of which are new to Urban Decay and range from Matte, Shimmer, Pearls and Shimmer. The shades are all named after Gwen's songs and Gwen worked with picking all the shades which is nice to know she didn't just throw her name on it.

The palette itself is marketed as the perfect everyday palette and while it does offer all the neutral shades you will ever need it does contain 3 bolder shades that might throw you off a little but this is 100% your daily go to palette. One thing I adore about this palette is the selection of mattes. I don't think Urban Decay have ever had so many mattes in one palette is really is a Christmas miracle. One thing I have noticed about this palette is some shades are very light and run on the cool side and some are less pigmented than others and might not be suitable for people with darker skin tones and while this palette might be the pale girls best friend it may want to be avoided by darker skin tones. I honestly think you would be wasting you money which is a real shame. On a more positive note it offers all the shades you will need to create a everyday look but it also contains enough shades to create a smokey look for the evening even if the palette is only suitable for paler skin tones.

Also included in the palette is a sneak peek of Gwen's Lipstick collection which I believe is coming next year and they look seriously incredible. I can tell you these lipsticks are going to be a massive hit.

Would I Recommend Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette?

It retails for €46 which isn't super budget friendly but you are getting a well together palette with a great selection of neutral shades that you will use on a daily basis. Yes there are one or two shades that are very light but I have been getting a lot of use of this palette and as always with Urban Decay the quality is there and therefore I would recommend it you as I think if you love a good neutral palette you will love this one. This is palette is limited edition so if you want it you will have to get your skates on.

The Verdict

Great shade selection for pale skin tones
So many mattes
All wearable shades except the pink...i cannot pull off pink eyes
Creamy textured eyeshadows

Some shades are too light for darker skintones
Some shades are a little less pigmented than others even on my pale skin.
The Glitter shade (POP)  is messy, I am talking major fallout...Edward Cullen face alert!
